I'm helping my team fund-raise for our trip to Nationals.
Can you help me out? |

About Team Salvo
We're a group of 9 guys from 21-34 years old who play in the Great
Lakes region of the USA Volleyball Association.
We're going to Nationals!
The culmination of our season is a trip to the USA Volleyball National
Championships in Minneapolis, Minnesota. May 24th-27th 2003.
Are you guys any good?
So far this season we have placed 2nd in 2 tournaments and 3rd in
one. Most tournaments have 8-10 teams. We're currently
ranked 7th in the region and moving up!

So Kris, why are you asking for money?
Practicing and playing in tournaments is mucho expensivo. Our team
pays $100-$125 per tournament to play, but paying for Nationals
is worse. There's a $900 entry fee plus hotel expenses, uniforms,
food, and travel expenses. I can't meet my real life financial commitments,
and still live my dreams of competing in volleyball at the national
level.
Kris, are you any good? Are you going to the Olympics or something?
I've been playing volleyball since 1990. I played on USVBA Junior
Nationals teams twice, and for one club team or another since college.
I play any hitting positon, but primarily outside hitter. When my
game is on I compete at a very high level.
Since
my move to Chicago in 2000, I hadn't been playing competitively.
So, after we had a baby last year I decided to work out for the
first time in my life. Going to the gym is monotonous, and I didn't
want Mason to think his old man was soft so I joined a Volleyball
team too.
Oh, and I have in fact been to the Olympics, but it was when I
was in Albertville, France in 1992 to watch Poland play Italy in
Hockey.
Why should you donate to my cause?
1. You dream big and make things happen for people who do
too.
2. You think MS is a terrible disease.
3. You or your kids have hit me up for girl scouts, baby/wedding
showers, lunch/soda money, uninsured loans, rides to school, etc.
and you feel guilty.
4. You or your kids will be hitting me up for girl scouts,
baby/wedding showers, lunch/soda money, uninsured loans, rides to
school, etc. in the next 6 months.
5. You are a member of my family and you want a Christmas
present ;)
6. You have "spare money" that is burning a hole
in your pocket.
7. You like late twenties guys who still act like they're
selling candy bars for pee-wee football.
8. You've always wanted to use PayPal and you just never
had an excuse to try it.
9. You think I'm incredibly good-looking.
10. You think Mason is incredibly good-looking.
What do I get in return?
$1-10: A handsome Hallmark e-Card
$10-30: An autographed thank you note (suitable for framing)
- a nice gift for Kris Rzepkowski fans everywhere.
$30+: All of the above plus my eternal, humble gratitude.
